SmoothPTP

Reduces motion-induced resonances enabling higher velocity and acceleration

SmoothPTP is an advanced point-to-point motion profile algorithm that increases throughput of precision motion stages by minimizing motion-induced resonances, enabling higher stage velocities and accelerations to be utilized. It can improve performance in multiple precision motion stage configurations:

  • Direct drive stages where encoder and motor are on opposing sides of center of mass 
  • Indirect drive stages ballscrew stages with a linear encoder 
  • Linear motor stages with interferometers
